Adolph Busemann (born 20 April 1901 in Lübeck, Germany, died 1986 in Boulder, Colorado)〔(Busemann Advanced Concepts Laboratory ), About Us › Adolf J. He was first to propose the swept wing (what Germans called ''Pfeilflügel'', or "arrow wing") at a 1935 conference on aerodynamics.〔Christopher, John.
